Suspect Steals Ambulance With Patient Inside, Ends in Fiery Crash

A person was arrested after stealing a MedStar ambulance in Novi and leading police on a pursuit that ended in a fiery crash near 8 Mile and Beck roads.

A MedStar crew was treating several people at a crash scene on Friday in Novi when one of the people involved got into an ambulance and drove away with a paramedic and a patient still inside.

The pursuit ended when the ambulance crashed into another vehicle near 8 Mile and Beck.

The paramedic, both patients, and the suspect suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
