9-year-old launched out of her home while asleep after car drives through it

A 9-year-old girl was seriously injured early Monday morning after a vehicle drove straight through a home in Macomb County, crashing from one side to the other.

The crash happened around 2:54 a.m. near O’Hare Street and MacArthur Boulevard, close to the intersection of Van Dyke and 10 Mile Road in Centerline.

The vehicle plowed into the home, ejecting the child through a window as she slept inside. The girl suffered extensive injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where she remains in stable condition.

The driver fled the scene but was later located and arrested by officers. Police are still investigating what led up to the crash.
